                    Rev. Dan Katches, Senior Pastor

                    Dan was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a graduate of San Jose State University (B.S. Industrial Technology) and Chesapeake Theological Seminary (Masters of Theological Studies). Dan and his wife, Bonnie, moved to Paso Robles in 1995 to pursue pastoral training and education after serving for five years in the campus ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ at Chico State University.

                    They have six children and Dan is active in coaching youth sports  and enjoys a good book and strong coffee.

                    Elders:

                    Elders are chiefly concerned with the spiritual oversight of the congregation including prayer, guidance, teaching and counseling.

                    Frank Honeycutt

                    Frank and his wife Courtney have four children and one grandson and have lived in the North County since 1989.  He has a passion for Christian Education and currently serves on the school board for North County Christian School.  Frank is a civil engineer with the County Public Works Department.  He enjoys walking on the beach at sunset with his wife!  He can be contacted at honeycuttfrank@gmail.com

                    Bill Kimball

                    Bill and his wife Diana live in Atascadero and have three children (Trevor studies Theology at Oxford University, Elise studies English and Music at Westmont College, and Anna is a senior in high school). Bill has a biology degree from Westmont and DDS from Loma Linda (where he met Diana, a dental hygienist). He loves to study and discuss creation, apologetics, and business or financial issues. Bill is a dental consultant and speaker.                     Tony Odenwald

                    Tony lives in Templeton with his wife Inga.  They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.  Tony and Inga open their home to marriage study small groups, young adults and various church gatherings.  He loves the gospel of grace and sharing it with others.  He is founder of Odenwald Construction Company and has built many quality beautiful custom homes on the central coast.  He and Inga enjoy traveling and good music.  He can be contacted at: tony@occbuild.com

                    Secretary: Bonnie Alexander

                    Bonnie produces our weekly worship folders, manages the office, updates the website and keeps the lending library current.  She and her husband, Fred, have 5 children and 2 grandchildren.  Because of the impact of Fred's 38 year military career and his deployments since 9/11 on their family,  Bonnie has developed a passion for serving soldiers and their loved ones as a Family Readiness Coordinator for the local National Guard Unit and is a member of ' The Friends and Family of B co 340th BSB' a local organization which generates community support for the the families of those who serve. She, also, encourages chaplain ministry support through prayer as they faithfully share the hope and love of Christ often in most difficult circumstances. She loves to connect with sisters in Christ for coffee or lunch and has a desire to develop more active ministry with the elderly one day as the Lord leads.                     Community Development:  Brooke Cone

                    Brooke has a heart for connection and community among God’s people.  She lives in Paso Robles with her daughter Rachel and works as a scheduler at Family Care Network Inc in SLO.  She coordinates small groups and community gatherings within the church. Brooke believes that God intends for his people to be in worship, prayer, service, & study together.  You might find her at Amsterdam coffee house on weekends with friends, having people over for dinner, or thinking up a strange activity for teenage girls (there are lots of them around her house).  She can be contacted at: dazzleen@hotmail.com


                    Rev. Bill Hawk, Founding Pastor

                    Bill received his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Seminary. In 1978 he and his family moved to the North county as a church planter and helped start Covenant Church in Atascadero.  In 1986 he founded Covenant Presbyterian in Paso Robles along with Great Beginnings preschool. In 1994 he began assisting with the Los Osos PCA church and then assisted with the planting of Trinity PCA in San Luis Obispo.  Now he has returned to Covenant as founding pastor and is involved in small groups, counseling, visitation and leadership.  

                    Bill and his wife Joyce live in Templeton and have four children and two grandchildren.  You might find him fishing or in Alaska when he's not at home.   Bill can be contacted at bill@covenantpaso.com

                    Deacons are chiefly concerned with physical and mercy ministry needs such as administration, relief and facilities.

                    Don Idler

                    Don Idler is well known in the county as the owner of three appliance stores and his commitment to the community.  He and his wife Janis have two children and one granddaughter.  His calling as a deacon is a great place for him to use his gifts of administration, service and mercy.  He likes the Dodgers and sometimes tries to play golf.  He can be contacted at: don@idlers.net


                    Jim Daniels

                    Jim and Brigitte have been a part of Covenant since it’s inception.  Jim has a big heart for people and has served as a lay chaplain at Twin Cities Hospital for 17 years.  He loves talking about the grace of God and the Word of God with anyone.  He recently retired after serving 39 plus years in the Military and Federal Civil Service.  He loves to hold babies and exercise!


                    Gary Kuhn

                    Gary and his wife Ruth are an integral part of Covenant’s mercy ministry. Together they oversee our local service at Loaves and Fishes and People’s kitchen, do our banking and bookkeeping.  Together, they have  nine children and nine grandchildren!  Gary can be found at Paso Robles golf course most weeks when he’s not caring for his family.  He can be contacted at: kuhnfamily@charter.net

                    Fred Kostner

                    A big part of Fred’s deacon duty includes coordinating maintenance on our facility.  He and his wife Sherry live in San Miguel and he makes the drive to Salinas every weekday for his managerial position at Mission Linen.  They have two children and enjoy travel and Fred plays golf when he's not working on his homestead.  He can be contacted at: fkostner@missionlinen.com

                    Missions:  Jack Phillips

                    Jack and his wife Margaret have been a part of Covenant since our inception in 1980.  He has served in various positions throughout the years, but now is heading up our mission and mercy committee.  He has led mission trips to Mexico and Honduras, helped with a Kazakhstan trip and numerous local and national Habitat for Humanity projects.  When he's not with some of his three children or 5 grandchildren, you might find him at his home based law office in Templeton.  He can be contacted at: martinsjak@earthlink.net
