How should I dress?
According to the Bible, man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. Most people in our congregation dress causally and modestly. Few of the men wear suits. Some women wear skirts or dresses. Some wear slacks. But when you visit us, you'll find that we're more interested in you than in what you're wearing, so don't let lack of what you think are "church clothes" keep you from sharing in our worship service.

How will I be treated?
We want to get to know you, if you give us the opportunity. Stay with us after the service for coffee and we'll get acquainted. Maybe you already know some of us, since we live and work in the community. You may be surprised at whom you'll see.

A cry room, is available for nursing mothers and infants, located near the front entrance. We also have Christian Education classes for all ages at 11:00 AM.

Will I be expected to give any money?
Our church is supported by its members and regular attenders who choose to contribute to our ministry. We do not expect our new visitors to give unless they feel the call of God on their hearts to do so. In Psalm 50: 23 God tells us: "He who brings thanksgiving as his sacrifice honors me..." In Psalm 51 David acknowledges that the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit and a contrite heart. God would rather have our hearts than our money. Our members give in response to what God has done in sending Jesus to die for their sins and making it possible for them to be part of God's family. We love Him because He first loved us and gave Himself for us. We give what we can -- our hearts, our service, and our money -- in response to His great love.

What is this church like?
Our members are all ages. We have many young families with children. Their children attend public, private and home schools. We have grandparents, widows, and some people whose spouses do not attend with them. We have members who have things in their past they are not proud of. We have members who struggle with family problems. We have members who are bereaved of children or spouses. Everyone is welcome. and no one need feel out of place because of marital status, educational choices, occupation, unemployment, or unsolved problems. We are concerned about each other and try to love one another as God loves us. We pray for each other outside of church as well as inside. We help each other out when special needs arise, and we feel free to share our burdens with one another. We hang around to talk to each other after church, and if you visit us, we hope you'll let us get to know you, too.

Do Presbyterians believe that the Bible is really God's Word?
In recent years there have been reports of strange things going on in Presbyterian churches, some of which are completely against what the Bible teaches to be true. The truth is that there are many different Presbyterian denominations, and sadly, some of them have abandoned the belief that the Bible is the revelation of God's truth and that it is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
However, the Presbyterian Church in America ("PCA") was formed to be a denomination that is "Faithful to the Scriptures, True to the Reformed Faith, and Obedient to the Great Commision."
The PCA is an Evangelical and Reformed Presbyterian denomination. By Evangelical, we mean that we emphasize the gospel (good news of salvation) through faith in Jesus Christ, as well as affirming other orthodox Christian doctrines and holding to the inerrancy of Scripture.
By Reformed, we mean that we are connected to the teachings of the historic church and the doctrinal beliefs recovered by the Reformation. These doctrinal beliefs are expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms. All officers of the Presbyterian Church in America must personally subscribe to and uphold the teachings of the Westminster Confession of Faith.
By Presbyterian, we describe our representative form of church government. Local churches are governed by a "Session" of "presbyters" (elders), elected by the members of the congregation. Representatives of local churches within a geographical area compose a "presbytery." Representatives of presbyteries meet annually at "General Assembly." Thus, through the combined efforts and resources of all of the churches, we are enabled to advance God's Kingdom much more effectively.
