The Season of Lent is upon us:

Lent invites us to make our hearts ready for remembering Jesus' passion and celebrating Jesus' resurrection.  As a period of preparation, Lent has historically included the instruction of persons for baptism and profession of faith on Easter Sunday; the calling back of those who have become estranged from the church; and efforts by all Christians to deepen their faith, devotion, and readiness to mark the death and resurrection of their Savior.  To assist you in making this season a special time of reflection and renewal please consider participating in the following

1.  CPC is again making available the excellent devotional guide "Significant Sacrifice" put out by Lifewater International. Please pick up a copy this Sunday in the foyer.  The guide will give you weekly readings and reflections and also encourage you to sacrifice some regular activity/habit during this season as a means to focus on the death and resurrection of Christ.

2.  To start the season of Lent, we will hold a brief service of prayer, readings, and reflections Wednesday, February 17th at CPC from 7:15-7:45pm.
